My First Byline in the Campbell Express!

The Campbell Express is a community newspaper.

My byline!

Shortly after posting on my blog about the Ainsley House Bridal Faire I was contacted by the editor and owner of the Campbell Express to see if I would be interested in writing an article for them recapping the event.

I said of course, I'd love to. I had a few days to put together a brief article and sent in several photos I took that day. This is what the finished piece looked like when it ran in the paper.

Ainsley House Bridal Faire A Phenomenal Success

Brides, grooms and the curious, 600 strong, flocked to downtown Campbell earlier this month to enjoy the first Ainsley House Bridal Faire. Guests were treated to a bridal fashion show, ballroom dance demonstrations, food from local caterers, cake, cupcakes, raffle prizes and the opportunity to meet 41 of the South Bay's best wedding companies. A list of all of the participating companies is now available at www.campbellmuseumfoundation.org

Passers by couldn't help but notice the large, white, special event tent erected on the Orchard City Green the Saturday before the Bridal Faire. By Sunday morning a long, elevated runway was in place for the Gabrielle's Bridal Atelier fashion show, an intimate ceremony area was set up in the backyard of the Ainsley House and by noon all of the vendor booths were in place to welcome the guests.

For the show's producers the event attendance exceeded all expectations. It would be wonderful if this becomes an annual event that features Downtown Campbell as a wedding destination for brides and grooms Bay Area wide. The Ainsley house is a charming backdrop for intimate garden weddings with a maximum capacity of 150-200 guests. Cost to rent the garden begins at $625 (+$50 museum membership fee) and goes up to a very reasonable $1675 with an option to purchase additional hours.

The event was a fundraiser for the Campbell Historical Museum's education fund which this year will benefit more than 4,000 Silicon Valley students. Students visit the museum during annual field trips and a traveling trunk show teaches them about their local history.

It took the imagination, hard work and dedication of the Ainsley House Foundation Vice President Linda Kane Neufeld, the Campbell Historical Museum Director Karen Lange and Wedding Consultant & Event Designer Nicole Lisanne to bring the fundraiser to fruition.

These are the photos used in the article featuring the Ainsley House itself, the beautiful ceremony area in the back garen and the audience attending the bridal fashion show.

LOL Evonne I probably should have added a comma to that title as "My first byline, in the Campbell Express" as I don't expect this to be a regular thing. Though if they did ask I'd be happy to write for them as I feel very strongly abut supporting the local small businesses in Campbell :)
