My Thoughts and Prayers are with the People of Haiti

Searching for survivors in the rubble of a collapsed building in Port au Prince. Image from MSNBC.com

It's not fun or flirty but tonight all I can think about are the people of Haiti. I am hoping and praying that the international aid that is so desperately needed begins arriving there tomorrow. There may be as many as 3 million people there who now have no food, no water, no shelter, no medical attention, and I'm certain, no hope. It's unbelievable how in just a few short seconds thousands, perhaps even hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost.

But we can make a difference. We can donate to help save some of the survivors. Those who are still alive but trapped, those who are alive but injured. Those who just need food and water to stay alive. We can help to save them. Even if it's just a few dollars it will help those in need. If you want to donate, this article has links to legitimate organizations that will help the people of Haiti recover from the horrific 7.0 earthquake they've suffered:

American Red Cross
AmeriCares Help For Haiti
Doctors without Boarders
HaitiArise
Haiti Emergency Relief Fund
Mercy Corps
Partners In Heath
UNICEF

And from WhiteHouse.gov I just read the following information:
You can also help immediately by donating to the Red Cross to assist the relief effort. Contribute online to the Red Cross, or donate $10 to be charged to your cell phone bill by texting "HAITI" to "90999." Find more ways to help through the Center for International Disaster Information.
