Bono TOGO Pizza Returns to the Short North, Columbus, OH

Beginning today and through the month of June (2010), Bono TOGO pizza has once again found a home in the Short North. From all accounts Bono's artisan pizzas are both delicious and beloved by the local community. Many fans were disappointed when they closed their doors

Here's where you can find them this month:

ONLY on Mondays and Tuesdays for the Month of June:
5:00 pm to 11:00 pm

Full pizza menu will be offered with 19 classic combos to choose from

Pizzas are $10 each, or the Short North menage a trois, 3 for $25

The Bono TOGO Menu:

1. Margherita: Italian fresh tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, ex virgin olive oil

2. San Rolando: Fresh tomato sauce, pepperoni, real sausage, fresh mozzarella

3. 5 Cheese: Freshly made pesto, a whole bunch of imported cheese topped with your choice of green onions or arugula

3b: The Lady "L": Same as above but with fresh mushrooms & sausage

4. Verdura: The Fresh Italian tomato sauce, and all the freshest vegetables we can find & fresh mozzarella

5. San Vito: Fresh Italian tomato sauce, imported matchstick ham, paper thin white onions & fresh mozzarella

6. Greek Boy: This little Greek boy is covered with tomato sauce, kalamata olives, feta and mozzarella cheeses & a touch of imported oregano

7. Puttana: Italian tomato sauce, green and black olives, hot peppers, capers and artichoke hearts

8. Napoli: Sicilian anchovies, Italian tomato sauce, garlic, basil and fresh mozzarella

9. Barcelona: Cheeseless Pizza!!! Italian tomato sauce, roasted red peppers, fresh basil and grilled eggplant

10. Waikiki: Fresh tomato sauce, imported ham, fresh mozzarella & pineapple

11. Cherry Bomb: Italian tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes & a boatload of really hot peppers... DANGER!!! Not recommended if you have a job interview the next morning!

12: Funghi: All kinds of fresh mushrooms (whatever is the freshest this morning) a touch of imported oregano, mozzarella and a touch of feta cheese

13. Berliner: Fresh Italian tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, Kielbasa & sauerkraut (It sounds horrible, but actually tastes good)

14: Pepperoni: An American classic

15: Hulk: This thing is entirely GREEN, pesto, fresh mozzarella, fresh spinach, green olives, zucchini, green onion, anything green we happen to have lying around

16: Bianca: Ooooh this is sooo good, no sauce, just extra virgin olive oil, garlic, coarse sea salt, fresh spinach, tomatoes, green onions, fresh basil and mozzarella and asiago cheeses

17: Hippo: This is named after the famous pizzaria in Nice France, tomato sauce, garlic, a couple anchovies, emmenthal and brie cheese and a dab of pistou and nicoise olives

18: Carbonara: Smithfield peppered ham/bacon is carmelized for three hours with a ton of onions then put on a layer of Asiago and fresh mozzarella cheeses then sprinkled with parmesan, gorgonzola and pixie dust

If they extend their run at the Short North Tavern, the next time I'm in Columbus I'll be trying The Hulk for sure!

And after you've had Bono TOGO's awesome pizza, just a short walk down the street and you can have some Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams for dessert... They stay open until 11:00 pm every night of the week so it's kind of a no brainer right?

The Hulk, or the Bianca with gorgonzola, or the Funghi... And Jeni's has a goat cheese cherry flavour for the summer, a Meyer lemon yogurt with blueberries that looks good too.

We'll be there tomorrow at 6:30 if you want to get a last minute flight :)
