A Good Idea • San Francisco

I have so much admiration for people who not only want to make the world a better place but actually take the time and dedicate the energy into putting their thoughts, hopes and dreams into action. Turning what could have been a passing thought into a reality that truly makes a difference is an idea that's catching on in San Francisco, California.

I first read about A Good Idea in this brief article on the SF Gate news website. Which led me to the A Good Idea website. Where I read the following:

If anything was possible, how would you change the world?

A Good Idea's mission is to inspire people to get involved in society, and to provide them a gameplan and a roadmap to implement their ideas for positive social change. A Good Idea is a "vehicle" for good ideas.

The group has since organized several events...

Here's the scoop on their website for their  next San Francisco "Call to Arms" titled "Warm the City."

Friday: February 20, 2009 at 7:00 pm

For our 2nd Call to Arms event, A Good Idea will take to the streets on Friday, February 20th to "Warm the City." We'll open up this volunteer opportunity to the community and invite people to bring sleeping bags, blankets, and warm clothes to hand out to homeless members of the community. We'll also make other goodies and hot chocolate to hand out that night. After serving the community, we'll then all meet up at a local bar to socialize.

Unfortunately I can't make it but thought some of you might be interested in participating. You can learn more about this event and join their Facebook Group by CLICKING HERE
