A New Flirty Girl

Yup, that's my mom! She was the highest bidder at a Robert Yamada live auction fundraiser I had donated a "Cartoon You" illustration to back in February. Among other things two of my mom's favorite things to do are winning big at the casino (the cash out ticket she sent me a photo of was only for 5¢ so I embellished her winnings just a bit.) and her iPhone, so of course I included both in her illustration.

She was also tickled that I included her MBT shoes. For those of you who are unfamiliar with MBT shoes, the sole is rounded to mimic the walking style of the Maasai, the semi-nomadic people of Africa. Their unique sole design promotes a better gait and better posture that in theory leads to better health. My mom could be a poster girl for the MBT brand. They are also pretty pricey but ever since she got her first pair years ago the pain that used to be in her hips has gone away. So some would say that though they are expensive, they're worth it. She even has MBT sandals for the summertime. She's kind of an MBTaholic.

Well I just wanted to say thanks to my mom for bidding in the auction to help Robert. Especially since I would have made you a "flirty" you for free. I mean you are my mom and all.

A Flirty Girl Custom Invitation

So this was the very first custom birthday invitation I created for a client. She sent me a photo of herself wearing her party dress and tiara and how her hair would look and this is what her invitation looked like. Just like her!

Some of you may be aware that I have restructured my companies this year. For now I have discontinued all of my Flirty Bride bridal accessories except for my custom cake toppers and have stopped doing custom web design for private clients and instead am focusing on my flirty girl illustrations for invitations and brand identity.

Bringing smiles to the world one flirty girl at a time :D

A New Flirty Logo for "The Wedding Planning Audiocast"

Even before he interviewed me for his Meet the Wedding Bloggers audiocast, when show host Ralph Mucci first asked me to create the new logo for the show I was thrilled! We were chatting on the phone when he has asked who creates all of the cute graphics on my websites and blog. When I told him I did, he asked if I could make one of a bride, wearing a veil, sitting at a laptop computer. "Sure" I said. He laughed and said he loved the confident way I answered him. With that my first custom graphic for Ralph was the one above...

After creating their Blogger girl for them, Ralph said they received emails and even several phone calls asking where the new logo had come from. LOL. He was so happy it made me happy too. A few weeks later he contacted me again and asked if I would be interested in redesigning the logo for the entire The Wedding Planning Audiocast website. That was a big deal, and I was honored to be asked. This time he wanted a bride, holding an ipod listening to a podcast. So I got to work, and this is what I came up with!

LOL My flirty illustrations are catching on. To add to my new TWPA Blogger Girl illustrations I also just received a commission to create a custom illustration of a wedding professional to use as part of her logo design. I know this will sound silly and sappy but it kind of makes me feel like a proud mama and all of my little flirty girls and guys are my kids... And I'm sending them out into the world to spread smiles and happiness :D

I'll have a really funny illustration to show you later this week that so far has made everyone laugh when they see it. It's a new little project I've been working on so stay tuned.

Meet the "Wedding Blogger Girl!"

Recently I was on the phone with Ralph Mucci to prepare for his podcast show "Meet the Wedding Bloggers" on his The Wedding Planning Audiocast.com website.

In the course of chatting about my upcoming interview on his program he asked "Who did the graphics?" on my blog and TFG website. I said "I did." He said "Who did?" I said "I did." He said "You did?" and I said "Yes, I did!" LOL

So then he asked if it would be possible to create a flirty bride, with a veil on, sitting at a desk on a computer...

So, now you'll find the new Wedding Blogger Girl hanging out not only on The Wedding Planning Audiocast website but you'll also spot her on iTunes where the podcasts are available (for free) to listeners. Even if I wasn't going to be on the show? I'm a fan for sure.

Technically I am still on a GIRL goes GEEK.com hiatus, but if you're really interested in a custom flirty girl design I can probably sneak in one or two a month.

To commission a custom illustration just pop by my web design and graphics website and let me know what you want (as many details as possible are good) and when you need it by and I can put together an estimate for you. My graphics portfolio is HERE at this LINK.

Hey! That's me!

So this is my new GIRLgoesGEEK.com logo!

As I am working on developing my new website for my flourishing web designing business, I decided it was time to make a graphic to depict the fun image of the sites I've been creating.

Here is a link to my New GGG Business Card I'm working on... Take a peek and let me know what you think. Good or bad, all comments are always welcome!

Those of you who know me well know how I love to wear my boots! These boots were made for walking... Now I'm going to walk on over to my computer and get back to work.

Later I'll walk the dog.
