Anthropologie Goes Bridal Chic!

Yesterday this image landed in my email inbox and I knew I had to share it here... Anthropologie, one of my (possibly my most) favorite apparel retailers is launching BHLDN their own line of bridal gowns and accessories. It makes sense and actually my first thought was "What took them so long?" Considering countless wedding blogs and websites feature beautiful "anthro" themed weddings with that invidualistic "anthro" look. So, it makes perfect sense that they are bringing their urban chic style and sophistication directly to brides everywhere.

The Wedding Gowns are quintessential Anthropologie. Some are ethereal, softly constructed with single or multi layers of sheer fabric while others have a distinctly retro, heirloom, Victorian'esque vibe to them. ($600-$4000)

The Hair Adornments range from dainty hair pins, to veils, bows, feathers, flowers and tiaras. Some combine several elements all in one piece. ($35-$825)

I really love this section. These are't the kinds of pieces you can't walk into just any store and find and many are versatile beyond the wedding day for any special occasion when you'd like to cover your shoulders just a bit. ($120-$350)

Accessories also have a distinctly vintage feel to them but now instead of endlessly searching antique, vintage and second hand shops looking for the perfect finishing details, you may be able to find exactly what you're looking for online. ($30-$555)

I think this is pretty big news for the bridal industry. I've always found Anthropologie to be a source of garments of astonishingly well constructed quality and am feeling fairly certain the gowns and accessories they are offering will, someday, become heirlooms themselves. I'm curious to learn more about the BHLDN line as it continues to launch. Regardless of the details though, I know the hearts of brides everywhere just started pitter-pattering a little bit faster when they heard the news :)
