The Arthur Murray San Jose Dance Studio Grand Re-Opening

I know a lot of brides and grooms debate on whether or not to take dance lessons. I have to say there are few things more impressive at a wedding then when a couple steps up to the dance floor to perform their first dance and they really know how to dance! To me the coolest thing about dancing is that once you learn how to, it's something you'll always be able to do together whether you're just a kid or in your 80's! It was so much fun watching couples of all ages having an absolute blast dancing the night away before and after the program...

I must confess I've not become addicted to the dancing reality tv shows like Dancing with the Stars even though pretty much EVERYONE I know is. I've watched them... I enjoy looking at the costumes but I just never felt that same fascination that so many others swoon over. So I was really surprised at how much fun I had watching live dancers doing every kind of dance imaginable at the Grand Re-Opening of the San Jose Arthur Murray Dance Studio. I was hooked and hoped the dancing would last all night.

My advice would be if you have a passion for it and love to watch dancing on tv? Don't just sit there and watch others having fun... Go learn to dance yourself. I really think you'll love it!

I personally know the new owners of this particular dance studio, Juan de Dios Garcia and his dance partner wife Cari Jo, because Juan de Dios played the part of my groom on my wedding day during our first dance. My girlfriend Christina, an instructor at Arthur Murray, played me. LOL if you missed it you can read all about our very flirty and unique first dance by Clicking Here

But back to the event I attended... I'm telling you there was magic in the air. Not only were the dancers incredibly talented, many were hilariously funny! The performances on the video are samples of some of the dancing I enjoyed but the comedy happened between performances with Juan de Dios acting as Master of Ceremonies. The grand finale culminated in the "Castaway" dance. This dance was so funny I was tearing up and couldn't even breathe I was laughing so hard. I can't even begin to describe it to you. You really just have to be lucky enough to be there to see it the next time it's performed.

Notables in attendance were Bobby Gonzalez dancing here with Gabriella Young...

Ron and Jackie Christy (above) and Chris and Daisey Lynam.

Congratulations to Juan de Dios and Cari Jo. They are quite the awesome couple. Among their many accolades and credentials they are:

- 2 time Arthur Murray World Rhythm Champions
- Arthur Murray 9 Dance Champions
- United States and World Open Mambo Finalists
- United States Rising Star Finalists
- Arthur Murray Certified Examiners
- Two of the top performing instructors and dancers in the industry
- They travel internationally adjudicating, consulting and performing shows

It was a wonderful opening and I wish you both every success. Certainly the attendance of your many students and fans coupled with the wonderful performances of your staff, guests and yourselves were a true "reality dance" experience for all who were fortunate enough to attend.

Kudos to both of you!

I really appreciate that you didn't post any pictures of the legendary "Castaway" performance. The world isn't ready for that yet.
